TimeFerret Privacy Policy

We, Surul Software Labs GmbH (“we”, “our”, “us”, “Surul”), the creators and licensors of the TimeFerret software application (“TimeFerret”), consider the safety and confidentiality of your data as extremely important. We have created this Privacy Policy document so that you can easily read and understand what data we collect from you and how we use it. We are based out of Stuttgart, Germany and we handle data according to the legal provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you do not agree with this privacy Policy in whole or in part, then you should not use the TimeFerret website or app. If you have any questions or suggestions about our Privacy Policy, please email us about it.

Data that we collect when you visit our website

We collect the following data everytime you visit the TimeFerret website: the date and time of your visit, which browser you use and the operating system you use to access the site, the URL of the site that you previously visited (in case you were referred to our website through a link on a different website) and the quantity of the transmitted data.

Data that we collect when you contact us

We collect your personal data such as email, name and other voluntary information submitted by you when you contact us with a question that you may have about our product/services. We use this information in order to follow-up with you and to help solve your problem or answer your question.

Data that we collect in the app

We collect app usage data in order to refine and improve your user experience in the app. We collect this data anonymously and do not include any tracking information that can be used to identify you. We do collect aggregate, anonymous information about your device such as the os version, make and model of the device as this provides us with data on what kinds of devices our users are using. This aggregate information is used to optimise the app for these specific device types and models. We do not collect or store data about your personal preferences that you set in the TimeFerret app Settings. We collect information about the buttons you click on, the device you use to access the app, the device’s unique device identifier, operating system, device language, device region, device time zone, device keyboards settings, push notification token and mobile network information. We collect this information so that we can easily troubleshoot any problems that arise, and to improve the app’s design, performance and security.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics on our website to analyze your visits to our website. We do this in order to identify what our visitors like reading about and what they don’t like reading about. We can then use this information to tailor our website in order to provide you with the best service possible. Google Analytics makes use of cookies and similar technology, which are stored on your computer or smartphone and are used to analyse your behaviour on the TimeFerret website. Cookie information will be stored on a Google-operated server located in the USA. In accordance with the Data Protection regulations of Germany, we anonymize the IP addresses of visitors to our website in a way that they cannot be personally identified by Google Analytics data. You can prevent cookies from being stored on your computer by modifying your browser settings. You can also opt-out of being tracked by Google Analytics by downloading and installing this plug-in.

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics, a third party service that allows us to record events that occur within the app. These events may include the start and end of user sessions, navigating to different screens within the app and clicks of buttons in the app. These will not include any of your private calendar or contacts data. We use this data to identify and improve popular features within the app.

We do not collect demographic data such as Age, Gender and Interests. We collect some user-related data such as: the App Store from which the app was downloaded and installed, the version and bundle of the installed app, the country of residence of the user, brand name and category of the mobile device, the hour of the day when the user first opened the app, the language setting of the user’s device, the operating system of the device and the last time that the app was opened on the device.

In cases where the app crashes, we will record a report of this crash the next time the app is used. This will not include any of your private calendar or contacts data, but will include information about what part of the app software was faulty. App crash reports will not include personally identifiable information. This means that when the app crashes on your phone, we will not know that it was your phone, but only that the app crashed on somebody’s phone.

For users in the European Economic Area, this data is transferred out of the area to the US. We use adequate measures to ensure that your data is protected.


We do not deliberately or knowingly collect data from children below the age of 13. Our website and mobile app are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. Children under the age of 13 will require the express permission of their parents or legal guardians to use our website and app.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

In case we make any changes to our Privacy Policy, we will update this document with a revised date. We may also notify you via email, or by a general announcement on our homepage.
